Becoming Catholic (OCIA)

Whether you are a Catholic who never received Holy Eucharist or Confirmation, a Christian of another denomination investigating what the Catholic faith is about, a person from a non-Christian background looking to become Catholic, or even a Catholic who is interested in learning more about the faith, Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is the place for you.

Are you feeling a “nudge” from the Holy Spirit?

Maybe attending Mass but unable to receive the sacraments for one reason or another?

If so, the OCIA program may be for you!

These classes are for the following:

  1. Adults who have never been baptized and would like to join the Catholic faith.
  2.  Adults who were baptized Catholic but for some reason did not receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation.
  3. Adults who were baptized Catholic and received the Holy Eucharist but not the sacrament of Confirmation.
  4. Adults who were baptized into another religion but would now like to become Catholic.

If you are someone who falls into one of the above, we would be happy to have you join us!

OCIA is a wonderful process and we would be blessed to walk this journey with you.

We will be meeting twice a month from September 14, 2025 until May of 2026 when you will receive Confirmation at the Cathedral.

Our program meets to explore the beauty of the Catholic faith through brief interactive talks and friendship.  Other members of the SFX community  join in the journey to help those exploring the faith, and to explore their own faith more deeply.
