Music Ministry

The Music Ministry at St. Francis Xavier offers an avenue of service for members of the parish. The purpose and aim of the Music Ministry is to inspire and lead the congregation to pray and praise God’s name through music and song. All are welcome to join Music Ministry.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir rehearses from September through early June.  The Adult Choir sings at the 10:00 am mass about 2 times a month and at the occasional 8:30 mass on Sunday as schedule dictates.

The choir sings on various Holy Days and celebrations throughout the year including Confirmation, Christmas Eve Midnight Mass and Holy Week.

The group is open to all adults and high school aged teens.  Rehearsals are Thursday Evenings from 7:00-8:30.  Attendance at rehearsal(s) and the liturgies the choir is scheduled to sing is expected.

Cantors

Cantors should be competent and confident singers comfortable leading the congregation in song. Music reading is very desirable. Training is available to encourage growth and development. Cantors are scheduled on a rotation according to availability.

Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists are invited to share their talents to enhance the worship experience during Mass. Proficiency at playing an instrument is necessary.  String, woodwind, brass and percussion are all desired.
