The 23rd Annual Will County Back to School Fair, coordinated by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the University of St. Francis in Joliet. This annual summer event is a major countywide effort to help low-income families access important services to begin the school year on a positive note. Last year over 4,000 children and their families attended the fair and received free medical and dental services; vital information about local programs and services; and last, but not least, a new backpack and school supplies! We are requesting your assistance to provide much needed supplies for us to distribute to those in need. Your parish is helping us by collecting wide rule 200 count paper. We will, of course, accept any school supplies you may donate. We are also requesting donations of any new or “like new” books appropriate for children from pre-school through 12th grade. Cash donations are also accepted and appreciated. This school supply collection is an opportunity for all of us to get involved in helping those in need – many of whom may be our friends and neighbors.
