Weekend Masses

father_karl_216Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The rummage sale and all that happened before and after once again showed the great community that exists in this parish. The volunteers that came forward for setting up , for selling and for cleanup were unbelievable. There was fun and laughter and great sense of achievement and I promise I will not mention a garage/rummage sale for a least another year. When we work together we can do great things. Dinner Dances, Summerfest, the Blood Drive, the Rummage sale, the weekly cleaning crew, the counters and all involved in the religious education programs have and continue to show us that we have come a long way. There have been growing pains and missteps but together we are building a faith community that cares. Faith is a journey and we journey together. Thank you for all you do and for being part of my journey of faith. As we begin the Family Centered Faith Formation program let us continue to give an example by word and deed that will encourage our young and old to grow together in faith. Let us be a light shining on the hilltop. In the meantime plans for the rectory are to and fro between the architect and the diocese but we are getting there. The Journey Continues, Fr Karl

father_karl_216Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Sometimes I am amazed at how people do not read a question or because the answer is in the question, they believe it to be a trick. To give an example here are a number of responses from a recent religious education test. On what day of the week does Ash Wednesday fall? Answer March On what day of the week does Easter Sunday fall? Answer April These are just a few examples of how we fail to communicate. We are in a hurry so we do not hear or see the obvious. Constantly I ask people to take a little time out to clear our minds and make space for God. If we fail to communicate at a human level because we are in a hurry, so too we will fail to communicate with God if we are rushed and busy and annoyed. So when you pray or come to church give yourself space to clear the mind and be still so that you can know that God is with you. Remember the gospel, Jesus goes away to a quiet place to pray and be alone with God.. Help us in Church to create that quiet space so that we can be alone and be with God. The journey continues, Fr Karl
