Weekend Masses

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, This weekend we have a priest from UNBOUND talking at all the Masses. I know it is a very busy weekend and there are lots of things going on in all our lives. We are challenged as Christians to look at all the needs of our fellow citizens. I would ask you to take a look at UNBOUND and their work and see is there anything you could do to help. When I was thirsty you gave me water When I was hungry you gave me food When I was in need you were there for me When I needed someone to listen you spent time with me When I needed encouragement you watched out for me Let our journey continue in faith. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Today is the first Sunday of Lent. During Lent there will be two Masses on a Friday one at 9.15am and one at 6.30 pm with a reflection on some of the Stations of the Cross. During Lent we will be trying as a parish to read Bishop Robert Morneau’s The Gift of Spirituality. It’s a small little leaflet but well worth reading. Fur- ther reading that I would suggest is Matthew Kelly’s Rediscover Lent. Magnificat has also a small booklet called Lenten companion. We will include as an insert with today’s bulletin Pope Francis’s Lenten Letter. Please try and read it. As we journey through Lent I would invite you to try and give up some of the electronics or apps and as families read a little and pray and reflect on what you read as we try together to repent and believe the good news Let the journey continue, Fr Karl
