Dear Brothers and Sisters, Some of our Eastern Church fathers saw the Trinity as an Infinite Dynamic Flow of energy and love. St. Cyril of Alexandria taught that all of creation was being taken back into this flow of eternal energy, almost as if we were a “Fourth Person” of the eternal love of the Trinity. Richard of St. Victor used to say that in order for God to be truth, God had to be one person; for God to be love, God had to be two persons; for God to be joy, God had to be three persons, but in order for God to be perfect, God had to be four persons! Now what did Richard of St. Victor mean by that? You and I are invited to work with the Trinity – to be the fourth person of the Trinity. We are called to participate in the divine relationship of loving and being loved. This changes everything! God isn’t far off and distant, God is in us, and we are in God, and together we are in a relationship with the Trinity and called to be God in every environment we find ourselves in – work, home, school, church, everywhere. That’s the great commission. So rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be very great in heaven! Vic
