father_karl_216Dear Brothers and Sisters, In the midst of disaster we often see the worst and the best of humanity. The inhumanity of the attacks on 9/11 are contrasted by the bravery of the police and services in the struggle to get people to safety. Men and women risked and lost their lives to save others. They will not be forgotten. Across the Caribbean and in the mainland USA once again we have seen courage and the love of neighbor in action. There have been powerful pictures of men and women of all races and creeds reaching out to their fellow human beings, carrying them to safety. Very often these images are forgot- ten after the storm or the event, but they are the images we need to share and to emphasize, because they remind us of our common humanity and the need to pull together in good times and bad. Love your neighbor and who is my neighbor has been answered and shown by brave men and women in their actions in recent events. Let us build on their example. Thank you for being a caring community and for your generosity in the second collection to help Catholic Charities in their support of hurricane victims. The Journey Continues, Fr Karl
