Dear Brothers and Sisters, One of the many things about our modern age is the loss of trust in so many of our institutions. There are two feasts which we celebrate within a week of each other that remind us of the greatness of trust and faith in God. The Feast of St Joseph we celebrate on March 19th and the Feast of the Annunciation we cele brate on March 25th. In one of the Gospels chosen for the feast of St Joseph we are told that Joseph was a righteous man. He believed the message of the angel sent to him in a dream and put his trust in God. He took Mary into his home. On the feast of the Annunciation we celebrate Mary placing her trust in God and saying “Behold the handmaid of the Lord be it done unto me according to your will.” This Lent we need to find a deeper trust and faith in God so that like Mary and Joseph we allow God to guide our lives and renew our faith as we Journey together as God’s Family.
