About Sandy

Sandy has been ministering in parishes in the Diocese of Joliet since 1990, serving at St. Mary Immaculate Parish – Plainfield, St. Joseph – Bradley, and since 2010, here at St. Francis Xavier Parish.

She is also involved with:

  • Facilitator of Engaged Couples Sacramental Preparation – Mantellate Sisters
  • Member of Planning Committee for the 75th Anniversary of the Diocese of Joliet
  • Women’s Cursillo Movement for the Diocese of Joliet

 

Education:
Illinois State University – B.S. Degree in Art Education,
Chicago Theological Union – Certification as Liturgical Design Consultant,
Loyola University of Chicago – M.A. Degree in Pastoral Studies

Sandy has been married to her husband Chuck for 46 years, blessed as mom to Magan (Scott) and Jill, and Nana to grandson, Benjamin.

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Kingsbury-Puscas is a Certified Professional Spiritual Director (CPSD) through Mayslake Ministries, Downers Grove, IL. She is also a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and has over 30 years of experience working with children, young adults and adults in various roles, including teaching art for 15 of those years and also worked as a school social worker.

She holds a Master’s degree in social work (MSW with Honors) from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois and a lifetime member of Phi Alpha, National Honor Society. She has a School Social Work Licensure Endorsement from Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois, a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in education with a minor in Fine Arts from Benedictine University, Lisle, Illinois.

She is a member of NASW (National Association of Social Workers). Some areas of interest include (but are not limited to):

Elizabeth enjoys taking part in the parish by participating in the ministries of: Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Cantor, Team Proclamation and Elizabeth Ministry. In the diocese of Joliet, she participates in Cursillo, retreats/day of reflection and the Diaconate including formation and wives formation.

“In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, Deacon Vic, my daughter, Michaela, and our dogs. I also run daily, practice Yoga, enjoy walking, biking, hiking, dancing, spending time in nature, drawing, painting, pastels, singing, playing guitar, ukulele and mandolin, and attending musicals”.

About Joan

Joan Williams has been a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish for two years and serves as a lector and a Eucharistic Minister. She is a certified Spiritual Director through Christos Center for Spiritual Formation, Lino Lakes, MN. In addition, Joan has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grand Valley State University in Advertising and Public Relations and a Master of Arts degree from Lewis University in School Counseling. After 28 years, she retired from Lewis University in 2020 where she served as the Director of Advising and Licensure Officer in the College of Education. She previously served as Religious Education Coordinator at two parishes in Michigan and at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, Plainfield.

Joan completed the Buttimer Institute for Lasallian Studies through the De La Salle Christian Brothers. She is a member of the Board of Directors at LaSalle Manor in Plano, IL as well as a member of La Sallian Companions. She serves as the chairperson of the Companions’ Busy Persons Retreat Committee.

Joan and her husband Dennis have two adult daughters: Erin (James) Lightbody and Sarah (Mark) Moore. They have been blessed with four grandchildren (Hailey, Calvin, Brayden and Elijah).
